Management and Supervisory Security Awareness Employee Training
All of the topics discussed in the Front-Line Employee Awareness Training Program will be
covered in this course, with greater emphasis placed on human resources and food defense plan
development. Attendees will learn the importance of a good food defense plan, the many ways to
develop the plan, which elements are of vital importance to incorporate in the
plan, how to test the plan, and ways to ensure your plan is available to necessary personnel
in an emergency. Specifically, this course will provide discussions on the following:
- Designating the Food Defense Coordinator (FDC) at your facility
- How to select your Food Defense Management Team
- Food Defense Inspections to verify provisions of the plan
- Emergency contact information to include, including local, state, and
government authorities
- Establishing a liaison between your company and local homeland security officials
- Establishing a relationship between appropriate analytical laboratories for possible assistance
in investigating product tampering
- Establishing effective communication procedures for notifying law enforcement, public health
officials, and first responders
- Corrective procedures for safe handling and disposal of products contaminated with chemical or
biological agents
- Evacuation procedures for employees and visitors

- Social Security Number verification
- Local and national criminal history record checks

you and educate your entire workforce about the importance of food defense and the reasons for change.
